Plastic extruder process and method

  The basic working principle of the extruder process,extruder is a plastic processing equipment,it through the plastic particles or powder heating and melting,through the rotation of the screw to melt the molten plastic is extruder cylinder mold to form the required cross-section shape.The basic working principle of the extruder process can be divided into the following steps:

  Feed:Put plastic particles or powder into the extruder feed port.

  Plasticizing and mixing:In the feed area,the screw heats and squeezes the plastic by rotation,transforming the solid plastic into a molten state and thoroughly mixing it with additives.

  Extrusion:The molten plastic enters the extrusion area of the barrel,and under the action of the screw,the mold inside the extruder barrel forms the required cross-section shape.

  Cooling and curing:After the extrusion is passed through the mold,it is cooled in a cooling tank and gradually solidified into a plastic product of the desired shape.

  Cutting and winding:The extrudates are cut to the required length by the cutting device,and the products are rolled or stacked by the winding device.

  Types and application areas of plastic extruders

  According to different extruder cylinder structure and use,plastic extruder can be divided into single screw extruder,twin screw extruder and solid extruder.

  Single screw extruder

  Single screw extruder is the most widely used extruder,suitable for the production of various plastic products,such as plastic film,pipe,plate and so on.

  Twin screw extruder

  Twin-screw extruders are composed of two screws rotating in the same or opposite direction,with higher extrusion capacity and better plasticizing effect,suitable for the production of high-speed extrusion,high viscosity and difficult to handle plastic materials.

  Solid extruder

  Solid extruder is suitable for the production of small diameter plastic products,such as small pipe,wire and cable sleeve.

  Common problems and solutions in the process of plastic extruder

  In the process of plastic extruder,some problems are often encountered,such as unstable extrusion speed and high extrusion temperature.Here are some common problems and solutions:

  The extrusion speed is unstable

  Possible causes include:uneven screw accumulation,screw wear,barrel and screw clearance is too large.Solutions include:cleaning the screw,adjusting the screw clearance,replacing the worn parts.

  The extrudate temperature is too high

  Possible causes include:the plastic material temperature is too high,insufficient cooling,cylinder and screw friction is too large.The solution includes:reducing the material temperature,strengthening cooling,lubricating the cylinder and screw.
